I have an interview at Hertz
I have an interview set for Monday with Hertz for a management position. The hours and location are perfect for me and the pay is not terrible, plus it's expected to go up. I really want his job. Anyone have some input to help me nail this interview? I.e. Been out of work since the beginning of May. I've been on a few interviews, one I even had two interviews with the company, and have not heard back from any. I believe that my last jobs reason for letting me go may be hurting my chances to get another job. They said I "wasn't the right fit" and that's why they were letting me go. They even gave me a severance package but when I tell the positional employers why I let my last job was because "I wasn't the right fit", they seem to want more of an answer. I just can't give them one because that the reason I was told and was not given anymore than that. I feel that it looks like I'm lying about the reason I was let go. I worked very hard for this job and learned a lot that wasn't even in my job discription, just to help the needs of the company. I did not revive any training other than, this is how you use this program (the basics) and the rest I learned on my own. I could really use this job at Hertz and I feel I could be really good at it. I just need a way in the interview, to let them know so they will at least give me a chance. TIA

You're going to have to come up with something to elaborate the "wasn't a right fit" reason. It doesn't have to be a lie. You're capable of self-reflection so when they want more details, you start with, "when it comes right down to it, I have an xyz style of managing abc and their business model/culture/whatever didn't them and eventually didn't suit me either.
Pray...if u don't get it just move on..
