When I came on-board there were no consistent guidelines on editing. Several employees proofread copy with their own individual preferences for abbreviating, capitalizing, and points of grammar, resulting in a confusion of styles. What was clearly needed was a reliable format for these generally-accepted practices to be used in the unique publications we generated. So I began an office stylesheet to standardize our routine, something quite unexpected but wholeheartedly endorsed. It was not only awesome that I developed the item on my own and without supervision, but that the office had somehow operated to this point without one!
