Beginner Experience
I graduated from college on May 4th, but haven't been able to find a job since then. I have terrible social anxiety, which makes anything social very awkward, and puts me on edge around new people. I'm beginning to wonder if my anxiety and lack of experience are what's keeping me from getting a job. I've applied to practically every fast food joint in my area in the past year and most places never responded or I immediately got a message saying uninterested. I recently had interviews with Walmart and Dunkin Donuts. However, when I call them I'm told to call back later or that I'll get a phone call within X amount of time. Thing is, they never called me back. I recently had an interview with Bojangles, who hired me on the spot. However, in the partial week I worked there, it felt like they had no faith in me because of it being my first job. They let me go after only one solo shift.. I would love to work in gardening at Lowe's, or just work retail in general, but the problem there is they require atleast a year of experience.
I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, and don't know what to do. Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
One option that worked out for me was work through a temp agencies. I would recommend to do your research because each agency has a specific method on how they operate.
