Good news!!

Found out you don’t need to be a college grad to get a great marketing job. My buddy recommends searching for entry-level sales jobs at companies first, then getting on-the-job training from marketers. Sales and marketing work really closely together, so it’s easy to transition from one career to the other.

Simon, that is great strategy and although I agree with you I have to put one downer in that little equation of yours. If there are 2 people that are working sales and management is considering hiring from within and one has a degree and the other not and they are both about the same as far as work ethic and loyalty and job performance. the one with the degree usually wins out. It is just something that you don't have to have until you have to have it.

Yeah, i can see that happening. If you can show problem solving, research, and creative skills learned in previous work experience chances are you can get your foot in the door. Going the Sales route also works if you can work under pressure. Good Luck.

That's great news, Simon! Sales and marketing are definitely industries where your talent and persistence - not your degree - really matter.
