How much do you think your time is worth per hour?

I've read a lot of posts where individuals are getting laid off or fired (what is the difference right?) How does it feel to know that someone, not you, is in control of paying you of what THEY think you are worth? Also, how does it feel to know you are pretty much at the mercy of the employer and they can end your employment if THEY want to? I have come to hate this model of making a living. I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

Even though the company has the right terminate you at will in most states, however it shows how unstable the company is unless there's a reason the employee is not doing their job properly, too many turnovers. Customers find it frustrating when they have to deal with different people.

Everyone is Pretty & Beautiful it is just the way you look at yourself on loving you at first. To Stay employed do not require to be a Beuty Model, just be presentable, clean and always smile when surrounded By workers that always gives the impression of been happily positive on your performance & confidence of yourself. The cost or value of your work time or performance depends on your quality, knowledge and experienced. Also the state of been lay off it comes in low seasons or circumstances at the moment that makes employers to cut their staff as needed it; in the other hand, Been Fired it’s has one meaning, “employee fault” Hope I helped in your concerns

Great point. Ur absolutely right. This model isn’t working but what can we do if we aren’t in charge of making the rules?

Yes its true that some people may not get what they deserve and that they .are at the mercy of whatever the employer wants to pay. Everyone thinks their time is worth more than what they are getting weather its true or not.. I do think there are a few cases where people are over paid, but for the most part employees are under paid.

It's called the prevailing wage for your job function. They do not pay different wages to people performing the same job. The Dept. of Labor is the referee for workers with the hourly wage division, you can file a complaint at any time. The system is called Capitalism, thus if you own the company then you decide who you want working for you and who you don't.
I must say that you are coming across as uneducated and dumb! Why didn't you stay in school and get a Degree or two? Education is basically free if you choose to take advantage of it, and you did not. Why? Go back to school and get a degree and stop whining about your life.

I totally agree. This is how entrepreneurs are born! However MOST people are either afraid, have no confidence in themselves, thinks it takes a lot of money, can't think outside the box, or are just plain lazy.MOST people love to list all the reasons why they can't start their own business. They like to look for excuses why they just can't do it. They like to blame others, they use age, race, lack of education , and anything else they can think of as to why they can't. The truth is, if we really want to do something bad enough, then we will figure out a way to get it done.IF YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN OR IF YOU BELIEVE CAN'T. YOU ARE RIGHT! It all boils down to your BELIEF! GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!
