The Statistics of being Unemployed
I've been unemployed 347 days. My unemployment ran out in June. I've applied for 472 jobs on line. I've turned in 33 resumes by hand. I've printed off over 60 resumes. I've taken 13 on line test. I've taken 7 onsite test. I've gone through 3 employment agency's. I've had 5 phone interviews and over 25 in person interviews. Out of the 505 resumes and job applications I've sent there was only a 17% response rate. OUCH! I have one college degree. Out of the 30 job interviews I've had only 3 were kind enough and professional enough to contact me and say I didn't get the job. On any given day there are 10,711 other Wichitian's of working age competing for jobs! The struggle is real! The effort is real! The Dream is real! After saying all of that I GOT A JOB! Not only is the pay, hours and commute is perfect for my family but I also get to do God's work by working for a company that helps get families child support. Don't accept anything less than you deserve. I know times are hard but patience is a must! Never give up FAITH OR HOPE for these are some of the most strongest forces in the world! Just remember "Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible." Claude Thomas Bissell. Blessings from Moxey and I! God Bless all of Ya! You are constantly in my prayers!
You are in my prayers Ms. Siebert. Your well thought out posts are like few I have read. They are full of wit and knowledge. What more can a employer want? When they hire you( they can't all be delirious) they are getting a gem. Ford
