Personally I think you should start working there while still searching for that particular job you want. And having worked for Dish Network call center for the last 4 and 1/2 years as a customer service rep and international support rep . I do understand where you come from. But working in a CSC is not as bad. Remember even if you are employed you still have the option to continue looking for other opportunitys, just make sure you coordinate your potential interviews on your days your off

keep the job and look for more while you work this job im doing it now i have a job thats not paying good at all but im looking for a new one and if its a good job im giving my two weeks .but im going to still work the one gob i have untill i find out if the ather job pays good befor i give my two weeks .

The bills keep coming. You start stressing and want to quit. Keep the job pay the bills until you do better. Keep looking and find out exactly what it is you like to do. Revise your resume to taylor the position you are looking for. School is always good your mind is a terrible thing to waste. Always learn new things no matter where you are or what you do. Besides you never know when someone may be on the job who can help get you where you need to go.

Take the job! Don't prejudge. You could like it. Besides, a lot of people end up doing work they don't prefer, just for the money. Also, while you're working, you can still look for other opportunities. Then, if you find another position, just give 2 weeks notice, then leave. Companies don't have feelings for their employees anymore, anyway.

Continue to look for another job while your working this one.

If you like people have a good sense of humor and don't take rejection personally give it a shot. If you hate anything mentioned try looking at customer service jobs like comcast. Trying this job could give you a step into a customer service position. I applaud you for trying anything. Also if you do go back to school you can defer your loans even if it is part time. The only failure in life is not trying something you might like. You are never a failure if you leave what doesn't mean something. Good luck and recognize what makes you happy.

I am quite a bit older than you are, and I have a lot of experience with this...Take the job and see if it is something that can lead to a position that you would enjoy - while still being open to better (happier) opportunities. Personally, I never stopped looking for something more enjoyable (which, If I might say, is working for yourself). I (and others I have worked with) did just that - worked for someone else until we could reach our goals of having our own businesses. Follow your bliss - but don't "shoot yourself in the foot" along the way!

Ever heard the saying "Get in where you can fit in?" I suggest, keep a roof over your head, but never stop looking for what you love. The opportunity might be within that company, and this is your foot in. My last job I thought I hated at first and wound up LOVING IT!
Either way, I believe the important thing is not to lose your focus on what you really want while at the same time remembering that eviction and not having a place to live brings with it a different kind of stress and a new set of problems that will begin to take precedence over anything else. Unless it is something that is contrary to your morals and ethics it might be a blessing in your life at the right time.

Hello Ellenor, take the job, but look for a job more to your liking in tge same company, use it as a way to get your foot in the door, then once you see what you want to do l, get the experience and education background needed to get the job you want, and if you are working for the company already you will have preferential consideration above any outside applications
