Scam
I applied on Zip Recruiter for different position such as a caregiver and driver. One particular email stood out it was from an Amy McCarthy. She was telling me how she's an politician and coming to Baltimore Maryland for business and that she needed a chauffeur for 3 days. She was offering me $500 and I was suppose to be sending the remaining balance to an Limousine Company and she suppose to be sending me yhe confirmation for the rental car. Then she asked me to send her my name address and bank name, I did and the next day I had an check for $3550.00. I also asked her if it was a scam and if it was I didn't want any parts of it. She insured me that it was not a scam. Once I did get the check I looked it up online everything matches but I still had my doubts. Before I went to the bank I emailed her again and asked her to call me, she stated that her device was not working properly. So instead of taking to my bank I took it to the bank it was printed in which was Wells Fargo. I went in and set down to speak with someone and showed him all the emails. I told him I wanted to make sure it was not an fake check. He took it to the back it tool about 10mins and came back and said it was indefinitely a fake check and they had to keep it. I told him that was fine and once I left the bank I emailed her again and asked her I didn't appreciate that it was a fake check and that I showed the banker the emails and they kept the check. I did not receive an reply back at all.

I look at it like this NOBODY AND I MEAN NOBODY IS GOING TO GIVE ME FREE MONEY so that should tell you something

I've also received similar email from similar name. Zip recruit is great, but I get 3 scams a week. Those scams probably prevent me from a legitimate job. Scammers trying to make money, but also cost legit employers.

Since joining Zip Recruiter I have had emails daily from different names offering employment with a million errors in the email. I am not perfect but if it was legit there is no way a Recruiter would address an email informal. Secondly, since joining many employment websites I get phone calls from outside the US as well as Adult Websites galore sending emails. I have tried to weed out the scams and delete my profiles from the websites I feel are full of scams..I have considered changing to a different email and phone number just for job applications.

I Dont Understand What You're saying

You did the right thing! Makes you wonder... Doesn't it! Who has the time to do such stupidity! These people who do this are repugnant trolls... They will learn their lesson. I can certainly relate. I had this happen to me before. Ps. You handled that diligently with efficient time management! Don't let those losers get the best of you! Stay logical as possible and continue being cautious! There will be better days! Sincerely,
Rionel Emile

You would think that people would give you a break when you're out of work and desperate for a job, but in some cases it just makes the creeps float to the surface. So glad you played it safe.

I had the same happen thats crazy that they put someone into thier bs games

They will never reply back once you tell them you know it's fake, it's so common it's sad. They send you a check for more than what youre suppose to have and tell you to send the rest somewhere else which is them to, you want a real job, they want free money. Who doesn't but this is ridiculous and messing with people's livelihood.

Lots of scams on ZipRecruiter!
I had some fake hiring. managers .through Zip Recruiters. Everyone beware. I tried to complain to Phi), but gave me an excuse that they are not responsible for the type of jobs available. Something must be done!
