Customer Service Representative at Filson

Your never too old!

Hi. I just want everyone to know that you are never too old to find that perfect job. I just turned 49 a few weeks ago. Last week I started a new job cooking in a soup kitchen. I am the Meals Coordinator and have free reign to make whatever I want. I only see my boss during meals service. No one ever comes to the kitchen and leaves me alone. There is nothing worse, to me, than being micromanaged. I need my autonomy. Anyway, this is the best job I've ever had! The clients and staff love my food and the Executive Director could not be more pleased! So, my point? Keep trying. Your perfect job is out there. It took me over 30 years to find mine and I couldnt be happier! DO NOT GIVE UP! It is out there!

Cashier And Costumer Service Representative at Walbaums

Hello love your work attitude I feel the same way I love working with people it is very satisfying to meet and greet new people. My friends tell me you are a great cook you need to open a restaurant but I don’t want to open my own restaurant I rather work for someone else if they give me free rain over the kitchen to make home cooked meals. I am 67 years old retirement is not for me I need to be busy working.I will look into meals on wheels or any other places that are soup kitchens here in New York City.Best of luck enjoy working and best wishes finding what you love.

Maintenance Mechanic

I commend you on service work. I have been the person on both sides if the serving line in my life. I myself am looking for a complete career change and really try to fullfill my second half of life helping others and the Nation. I have a criminal record that's nasty and gaps in employment and just a ugly colored past but I have unique talents that can do just that and I'm going to keep working towards that career until I get it and then I'm going to push harder to continue the advanced and with hard work and God's blessings I can make a difference today. Proud of your story thanks for posting it, positive things like your post keep me moving in that direction.

Caregiver at I H S S

Congrats to you! But I have been in health care , caregiver and Medical Assistant. I am doing caregiving for 20+years and. I am very upset when employers take application and never call me back for interview . So on this note my physician said to me go back to school. He stated that my condition , I can't lift my patients cause I could break my back. What should I do for a job?
