Deceit is Everywhere!

First, the phony postings for "work at home" where you are required to send in personal information. Even sending these people your address can screw up what you have. I tried it once but had sense enough to take the so-called post office cashier checks for verification directly to the post office and was told they were not legal. I gave them everything because it is a federal offense and I didn't want any more to do with it. Another phony posting was "you're just the person I'm looking for...I'm out of the country right now, but send me your address, SSN, full name, banking information and I'll deposit your first paycheck ("I trust you of course") along with sufficient funds to purchase the necessary office equipment. Another is you get the job, you're doing great but then the younger generation knows so much more because they are better versed with the techno jargon and your job or just starting their professional careers and know more than you - that is definitely age discrimination, something I'm going through at work now with an actual bully. This person may be one of the top in their field and only practicing for barely 2 years, but as far as respect for another..."it ain't there". This person has actually told lies in an attempt to get more fired and get "their team in the office because they know their team can do a much better job than I can". I'm definitely a member of the AARP generation and very proud of it. I work because I have to and really used to love what I do, but not anymore. I know it's just this individual and one other (very small office), but I have never in my entire career dealt with such blatant deceit and hatred from a co-worker. And yes, I consider it harassment and, like a lot of you, seeking employment elsewhere. It is not worth me enduring 2.5 years more of this to have a little more in the retirement kitty. I know...I'm lucky to have a job and I am thankful. But when I can't sleep at night and absolutely dread going into work because this person will be there, well...

Lab Tech at Tax Preparer

I have been deceived twice in one week. I also received a check for $1800. Clearly I did Not deposit or cash it. Actually looked up bank they used on internet and it Does Not exist. Than another place sent me an email saying they found my resume on a job board. Was a work from home. I was sent a few papers to sign. I got on the BBC website this morning. I explained everything to an employee there. Sent persons contact info, "name", website, address, etc. Was advised to fill out an online page on BBC investigation site so they may be able to stop others from the hassle.

Sorry that is happening to you. It's definitely a good idea to find something new if you aren't happy at your job.
