Publix hires 14 year olds? Actually, do they?
I'm currently looking for a job, but have had little luck. I went to publix only to be turned down for not owning a car? The publix I applied for is not a long way from my home and I ride my bike there all the time. I heard they hire 14 year olds, went to check, and they do. But they dont hire someone who does not drive. I'm sorry but where is the logic to that? {《On the phone, they asked me questions that every 14 year old would have the same answer to. 》} ▪ ["Do you have a Highschool Diploma?"] ▪ "I'm currently in highschool" ▪ ["Ok! Are you available at all hours of the week?"] ▪ "No ma'am, I have school" {•°•your asking a highschool student, who has school to attend mind you, if he or she is available at all hours of the day?•°•} ▪ ["Alright.. and do you currently own a vehicle or drive?"] {•°• this part coming up got me furious!•°•} ▪ "Well I have a bike-" {•°•RIGHT HERE•°•} ▪ ["I'm sorry, you have a great day!"] ▪"Alright, you too.."
I'd like to have someone explain this to me.
Hi Diana Bruce Though most supermarkets do hire 14 year old, it can be really tricky to get around their questions. Usually if they are asking hours during the week, it could possibly mean starting right after school like around 3:30pm or 4pm. Asking the question about having a vehicle is definitely unusual since you're 14 years old. Try applying to other supermarket or YCMA
