What I learned from Burger King

Before I was a chef I worked at Burger King, but as it turns out BK is not that much different from any other restaurant. You have to work hard, get along with your co-workers, prep your station, and clean everything up at the end of your shift. It's also VERY fast paced, but also has its slow times. I have found this to be true in so many restaurants I have worked at. As weird as it is I really think my experiences there helped me become a better chef. Yeah I know it's not fine dining or the Ritz, but that job gave me the confidence I needed to go to cooking school. I won't soon forget. Each job offers us different things. Remember that.

Thank you for sharing your perspective about working for Burger King, I also worked for the organization I was your dreaded crew leader I was the one that you went to when the soda fountain quit working I was the one that you came to when you needed a new ice machine and the owner was asleep on the job I was the one who was Up on the Rooftop replacing the light bulbs during the rainstorm I was the one who covered your shift when you couldn't make it in for whatever reason you had I was the one who stepped in when you faltered at the table I'm the one who took the Heat and the ship from the franchise owner was Burger King a nice place to work for the rest of you. For the crew leader we had to know every aspect of the business. We were the ones that made certain the sewer was functioning properly just minutes before my staff came in I had to have a plumber coming out cuz otherwise the store would not be opening. You wondered why we were grouchy it's because the job that we had wasn't one job it was to know all of the jobs and to perform each and every one of those jobs period a piece of cake not even remotely close.10 years of that and finally I had a gutful of the ignorance being displayed towards me y'all are on your own. Case closed
