When you think someone is 'lucky' because of a success or situation - chances are you are overlooking a TON of HARD WORK. I love this quote by our founding father Thomas Jefferson. The thing about it that is so great - is that it turns a dangerous thought (things just happen or don't happen and random chance - luck - is the determiner of who wins and who loses) into a VERY constructive thought (I can be master of my own destiny). I have never really found anything easy in professional life. But generally speaking if you are willing to roll up sleeves, work hard, and keep at it - then pretty soon others will be saying how "lucky" they think YOU are.. and probably overlooking all that hard work that you can inwardly smile about knowing that YOU are all the luck you needed!
