Moving to Wisconsin
I am moving to Wisconsin because I have not had any luck getting an interview in Texas. I am a US Veteran, I have a BAAS in Manufacturing and Industrial Management, an associates in Engineering technology and years of aviation experience. But I think I will have to change industries in order to find a job. Any thoughts?

There are many manufacturing jobs in Wisconsin since the weather is never warmer than 30° F in the winter. That scares a lot of people off. If you like the cold weather then there should be no problem. Good luck.

It's tough out there and I have two associate, technical diploma and a BS in project management all in the construction industry. I had to create my business 23 yrs ago to help with work, but I also worked at part and full time jobs with my two businesses. You might have to change industry or might strike it good in industrial engineering with a firm here in Wisconsin.

I can suggest only HVAC or welding for you.

I too was engineering technician. I am sorry for your trouble finding work. I pray your opportunities get better. Have you looked in working as a charter pilot or work in aircraft industry? Boieng or other manufacturers

I just found a staffing agency this week specifically fir manufacturing and warehousing. Onin is the name. Also El Paso TX may have need for your qualifications being that we are a border city and deal with Mexico manufacturing. The HUB of human services may have references for you.

Check out militaryhire.com ....good luck.

I am an aircraft mechanic in Texas I can personally say there is plenty of work in Texas that’s aviation related. Try using JSfirm.com for aviation jobs and it will show what jobs are available and what the requirements are for those jobs. I recently quit my last job and started a new better job with better pay and benefits, while in training for 6 weeks I received multiple calls from aviation recruiters offering work in Texas so I suggest you look around there is work in aviation and you have previous aviation experience

I know exactly how you feel I have a degree in business and 3 job skills , I left Ga to come to Texas and not one thing has come my way...I'm headed out cause I know im a good investment far as work so Good bye Texas.

If you are not set in where you want to live, then do a nation wide search. I'm sure you will find something, any maybe end up in much more exotic place then Wisconsin. I've lived there myself.
A common mistake made is staying in an occupation too long and in the wrong place.
Make sure your skill set is in demand before moving somewhere. There are a lot of jobs that are in less demand and people need to move on to new occupations.
In your case, (Thanks for including your skillset) theres still demand for those skills if you are in the right place.
I dont know of any aircraft manufacturing in Wisc, but Manufacturing Management will still work up there.
Work the social networks. When I was at Facebook, we had a small army in the company that was constantly searching for vets with skills we could use. Esprit de corps is alive and well! There are entire networks of vets out there helping each other find work. Find them!
