I'm on disability and I took some classes for medical billing coding and insurance specialist back in March I want to work but all I have is 30 years of factory and textbook classes how do I get the experience to get a job I'm easy to train and a hard worker can anybody help me

Hi Jennifer-
Congrats on becoming skilled as a Medical Billing Coder and Insurance Specialist. I hope it serves you well. The hardest thing to do is to get experience. It the problem right! Employers won't hire you unless you have experience and no one will give you experience.
In my opinion, the best way to get experience is to volunteer. In your case, go to a medical group or hospital and ask them if they take unpaid Interns. You only need to do this for a couple of months to gain the "experience" you need to put on a resume to get work. Its just a suggestion.
Hi Jennifer,
You took an important first-step back into the job market by getting trained as an insurance specialist, congratulations! I'd strongly encourage you to use the search function right here at Jobcase by clicking on the Jobs tab above. Enter a brief description of the type of position you're interested in and your desired location.
For example, the search I ran found that Golden Living Center has a Specialist Accts Receivable position open (Job Number: 1500883). Take a look!! And don't forget to follow up your application with a phone call or email to show how interested you are.
Good luck & check back in to let us know how your search is going! Marijoy
