You may not be a huge fan of Microsoft but I came across something cool this week. I learned that not only do they offer 12 weeks of paid parental leave to all new parents and 20 for birth mothers, they started requiring last year that all of its suppliers offer 12 weeks of paid parental leave, as well!
I think it's really cool that a company in a position of power use it not only to help their own workers but also all the workers they can impact! Too many companies today do a lot for their own but turn a blind eye to all their partners' practices...
Do you know of more companies that are pushing for change where they can? I think we should do more to promote them here and elsewhere!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Companies that use their influence to inspire other companies to do the right thing!
PTO benefits are a major pain point for employees. Time away from work doesn't only apply holidays and vacations anymore. There's a high rise of workers being fired to taking time to care for ailing parents, immediate family members, and personal healthcare.
Employers have also been cutting back on the number of days and most front line employees don't become eligible for PTO for 90 days or 6 months after their date of hire.
Yes, Microsoft needs to be applauded for this initiative!
Great story Michael Abram , thanks for sharing!
