Health and Fitness Question?
Living a healthy lifestyle has really changed my life for the better. I was thinking slowly trying to get into the fitness industry a personal trainer or fitness instructor part time. Anyone able to recommend affordable and short term training programs available online or in community colleges? Are there any other options to get into health and fitness industry where I can work one on one with clients without going back to school?

Hi Marie And God bless you. Yes their are many. But most people enter with in a social group and you always have to take a test just to be certified so you need education. I found ( Rodale university) to be very helpful in health education. There associated with MENS HEALTH magazines and Women's Health. God bless and good luck.

Hi Marie: At one point I consider a job in this profession. I red everything from diets, body shapes, good and bad carbs and etc. The most important source to getting into is read everything to do with this industry. I recommend going to the library and getting books and magazines on Fitness. Also in the back of Fitness and training magazines they have information to be a certified fitness trainer. I would start there. Venus and Serena's father didn't know how to play tennis but he learned everything about tennis from a book and implemented to a number 1 and number 2 seed tennis players and his girls. I wish you well in all your endeavors.

Hi Marie, Congrats on your healthy lifestyle! I actually am studying to take the NASM Certified Personal Trainer exam (http://www.nasm.org). You get 180 days to study for it and take the exam, but NASM is recognized at most gyms and studio's across the country. This one is a little pricey, but they have a great payment plan. There are a couple of other personal trainer exams you can take. The other route you can take is the fitness instructor certification, and the best way to learn more about those are to look at gyms/studios near you. Many times, if they think that you will be a good instructor for them, they will cover the cost of instructor training and certification.
Plus, I recommend starting your own blog! I manage a health and wellness blog, that has helped me make some great connections. Sharing your story online makes it easy to attract future customers and create partnerships with studios, gyms and other fitness companies. Send me a note and we can chat further if you have any other questions.

move to the state of Maine, where the governor is of the view, that Healthy life style is useless, as everyone dies, some sooner than others, as commented by Rachel Meadow on the news program at MSNBC. so the education and help in education is useless. live every moment as if it is your last. stop dreaming.
