What’s with all the interviews for a Customer Service/Cashier position?
I’m applying for a cashier position with a national supermarket chain and so far I’ve had to take a personality assessment, phone interview, HR interview, and manager interview. Then I got sent for a drug screen, It’s been over a month now and I’m still waiting for an offer!!

I've been through the same thing.By the time the company calls me back I've already excepted a contract position. I'm going through that now. I applied for a job in December they choose someone over me because he already has his bachelors degree but not my experience. So naturally I got a call to interview with them again as their chosen applicant is making too many errors. I had to tell them due to their lengthy process & inability follow up my previous employment inquiry about the position, I was not interested in working for their organization. Point is if you don't hear back in 10 days keep it moving

Hi Rachel, After your interview did you do a follow up call to check your status .I'm a college student and my advisor said you should never wait more than 2 days and follow up and not wait on them to contact you .

Hi Rach, I think WE should get all of us and get on The Ellen show and waste their time and frustration...Whattya Say?

I just spent 3 weeks taking flawed prove it tests, a one hour phone interview and a 45 min face to face interview for a 3 month temp job, only to be told another candidate (younger) was a better fit for their team.

I understand it's a busy time of the year but that's a long process for that position with no response. Keep your search going and don't put all your eggs in on basket.

It’s a competitive job market right now. Just the other day I read an article about a company hiring event for 100 warehouse positions and over 2500 applicants showed up to apply! Companies are looking for the best of the best at all levels and their making the application process more & more challenging to measure how committed the applicants are for the job opportunity. Keep at because you’re close!!

I've seen this as well, and its all a part of a waiting game. Why does a dishwasher job need a resume attached? But yes, in the past, if you get to a second interview and a drug screen, it usually meant that you have the job, but in your case, if the verdict is still out, maybe they are swamped with applications and forgot to give you an answer, if that is the case, a quick phone call to inquire would work wonders for you. Sometimes an employer wants to see if you are keen enough to follow up about the job, and try to see how bad you want the position. You wouldn't believe the amount of folks who would have been hired but didn't follow up with their interviews or drug screens enough to let the potential employer know that they really wanted the job. The employers used this tactic as a further way to weed out potential applicants to seperate the good the bad and the ugly. definitely call them back though and good luck to you!
I gave this advice to someone else the other day. Take the subway into the city and sign up with a couple of temp agencies. They will keep you working at great places, with great pay. This will help you to meet people and find your niche. If I still lived in the area, that's what I'd be doing right now. I did it for years and loved it!
