I have 20 years of customer service. Hand my own business for 10 years PET SITTER.

It all depends on your employer but most companies only look for 6 months to a year maybe two but I've gotten plenty of jobs customer service jobs when barely any training it's all about how you present yourself and communicate. That's what they're really looking for is how you communicate with other people on phones etc.

It all depends on the employer, I had 0 experience and got hired, your skills I would say are most important

Customer service is really basically a little common sense, a bit of being in the persons shoes, no placating, and not taking what they say or do personally. If you can really listen and see exactly what they are saying, and actions you are half way there. The other half is recognizing that it could be you and what you want or need help with in that moment or situation.
