What duties would I need to complete as a Customer service?

Definitely have experience handling the public, patient, pleasant, kind, helpful, and definitely a people person

Hello Barry, well you need to listen to what the customer is saying, then repeat it back to then to make sure you understand what they need. Then try not to put them on hold for long periods of time. Resolve the query if you can or let them know you will follow up with them if you can't resolve right then and there. The most important thing is understanding the the customer is not upset with you but the situation. Hope that helps you.

It doesn't matter what customer service position you get you still need empathy with the customer. If the customer is mad listen to the customer and let them vent it will make for a better call once all the anger is gone. Let the customer say what they need to say without talking over them after you listened to them repeat and just making sure I heard everything correctly, they will be happy someone was listening. The next thing is some the problem, ask opened questions it gets the customer talking ore and engaged in the call. When problem is fixed recap everything you did to solve the problem. Just to let you know I was customer service for 8.5 years.

Listen to what the customer is saying, and treat them the way you would want to be treated.

You would mainly be focused on answering questions. You would have to answer politely and make sure you are able to elaborate the answer even if it as simple as yes so the customer can understand. The job does require a lot of patience and empathy.

You would need the patience of a Greek god the skills of a mother of 10 and the personality of someone who writes comics to be an excellent customer service rep you would know their answers before they ask the question your main goal in life is to satisfy their every desire not their need

Customer service work is usually trying somedays. People don't call customer service because there just overjoyed and want to tell you how great you are. You need to always keep in mind, that you are not their problem. We have the best job. We get to solve people's problems, which makes them happy . Happy people, turn around and are nicer to others. So when the call seems to be going terrible, Use your resources, listen, problem solve.
