Did you say you were a hard worker?

True, you may be the most hardworking person of all time, but by saying, “I am a hard worker” during an interview (or on your resume) you are selling yourself short. NO one wants to be that person who is generic and unoriginal, because chances are the interviewers have it heard that description a few hundred times before. Instead make yourself stand out!

The next time you are asked why they should hire you, use specific examples that will demonstrate HOW you are hard working without ever saying it. You can also move this info over to your resume as well.

For example someone could say… "I created [insert project or accomplishment] from scratch within a 1-month period which in turn [insert amazing result].” Be as specific as you can to showcase your skills.

Remember to stand out and SHOW why you are a hard worker instead of simply stating it.

Good luck!

Mr

That advise was cute an all but however , when your on the front line of battles there no time to be politically correct , for the fact remains that if they like you enough they hire you , if not then kick rocks , wit Moses's sandals . Grow some balls out there an just stand up for what's rite . Don't settle for less cause there always gonna try an play you like a wet food stamp . Start your own buniess an live peacefully.....

Asst Maintenance Engineer at Holiday Inn Airport

I once had a man who was one of the biggest hotel investment company in Greensboro NC. I was with him for 14 years. He told me that I was the best he had trained in the hospitality industry. So I don't have a big head if I could get a someone to let me show them what I can do. Then they can see I am just that good but I can't get no one to hire me so I can show them I have a lot of experience in this field. I feel like my interview goes well but I wonder if it's my age and I am not that old. I have seven years before I can even thank about being able to get retirement. So you tell me what the problem is ant that what it's all about to be one of the best at what you do.

I agree, that's the type of comment managers would expect to hear when they check references but saying your a hard worker on an interview shows bad preparation..
