Not getting ANY response

I’ve been applying for warehouse job after warehouse job, and I’m just not getting anything back. No phone call, no emails, NOTHING. What’s the deal? Why are employers so frickin’ rude? All I want is just ONE RESPONSE.

Know the feeling. Most if NOT alot are hiring all foreign workers over Americans for the simple reason the companies can get away with paying them less.

I know what you mean. I have 7 years experience as a warehouse supervisor and 13 years in inventory control and I have been out of work for 2 years now. I lost everything I had. I just got a reject today from a job that I wanted so I give up. After my daughters wedding in November I am going to go live on the streets!!! Thanks to King Obama there are a lot of people out of work now!!!

Hello Rick, I've seen some good advice given on resume and a follow up call to the company you applied to, send a email as well if one is provided. I would also apply at temp agencies. The pay may not be great at the start but it is a foot in the door. I research companies that i'm applying to and adjust my resume for each company. This added info you learn about the company will also come in handy when you do get a interview. Stay positive and best of luck.

I'm going thru the same thing, they say there hiring but when you call and ask about the job they are rude and it doesn't makes sense..you would think that by a person calling it means that they are interested in getting the job..

You can also do a follow-up and call them,.tell them who you are and say that you're very much interested in the position and was wondering whether or not they made a decision

Rick...do a search for the job/s you have applied....see what you get for responses....do you have qualifications that stand out? Now that there is little face time..maybe you have Forklift cert?? etc that you can accentuate. I hope this is of help. We all are qualified that is why we apply but is there something that makes us stand out from the others. I have run 2 companies 1 of my own and I think everyone would agree that something that stood out made us hire that person even though others might have qualified.

I was a hiring manager, we get thousands of applications a week. Did you ever hear the term. A sweaky wheel gets piled. Of you really want a job call them go to the business and talk to someone. This is what I would tell people. So if your sitting home waiting for a potential employer to call you. Yoh probably won't get that job. Not meant to be mean just a cold hard fact. I always hired the person who came into the store about their application

Actually, it's an employers' market out there right now. Fact: I'm applying for administrative/clerical jobs, and I've been told by HR managers that I've spoken to that for every position opening, there are over 150 applicants. Businesses have shut down, and the unemployment rate has risen. Even the hourly rates for jobs have gone down in some cases. You might try networking. Checking with people you know and asking them if they can recommend any jobs to you. Also, on Facebook, there are job ads. You can get to know the monitor for that page and tell them what you're looking for and what your background is. Good luck!
