Feeling depressed
On 10/20 I was terminated I was a supervisor for the company for 5 plus years the reason why the let me go the say that couple co workers came to them to say I was stealing from the company I asked them if the have any proof the say not at the monument never took anything from that company I work so hard for that position and to have that taken away heart broken I have a family a new born so lost don't know what to do never in my life I was accused of stealing

Did the company file any legal charges against you upon your release from that job? If no formal charges were then I suggest you move on and check this off as a learning experience. Proving slander or labor violation charges is extremely difficult especially since most states have the At-Will Employment law. Keep that employer off your reference list on applications and start your search. I know getting fired is not an easy experience to overcome but try not to waste in anger or beating yourself up over the past. Keep moving forward!
Hi Cenique, I'm sorry to hear about your job loss. It's really sad to think you spent 5 YEARS with a company and they didn't give you proof of the employee's claims. Unfortunately, you need to move on from this as quickly as you can. It's been (almost) a month, so since you have a family - and a newborn - at home, you've got to pick yourself up and work hard to find another position.
I'd suggest managing this in 2 ways: 1.) find someone to talk to about how awful you feel. Do you have someone at church? A friend in the neighorhood? A family member? Use that person as a sounding board and allow yourself to work through your sense of betrayal and anger. If you need professional help, there are lots of resources available; THEN.... 2.) Start your job hunt FOR REAL. Make a target list of companies, search for job fairs that are coming up, use online search tools (like the Jobs section of Jobcase) and get a sense of what kinds of jobs are out there right now. Practice how you're going to tell your story, including how you'll explain what happened at your last company. There are lots of conversations here on Jobcase that deal with terminations... take a look and see if you can find some good advice.
You should keep #1 and #2 as separate as possible. Give yourself time for both, but try not to let them bleed into each other. Lastly, check in frequently here at Jobcase to let us know how it's going. We're here to support you and we'd love to hear your thoughts on what's successful or not.
Thanks Cenique ~ I know you can do this. We're behind you 100%! Best, Marijoy
