Hi Marcy, In my experience and a whole lot of research, I found that most employers want someone that has on the job experience and/or a degree from an accredited school. After completing a MBC program you can take your CPC (through AAPC) or CCS-(I believe those are the correct credentials) through AHIMA. Dependinf which way you want to go and and what most company's want in your area. I'm in Jersey and it's mixed here.. some want AHIMA &a others prefer AAPC. I graduated in May from an online billing and coding program. It takes a lot of time and dedication if you go that way. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I'm looking for work myself. Good luck!!
