Age Discrimination

Anyone know of a lawyer who handles age discrimination in Woodbridge Va. My former employer of 5 yrs thinks it's funny to tell me twice in an interview that they are looking for younger kids to join the store. Telling me I am too old for the position, even though I held the same position for 5 yrs. I have been turned down 3 times. This is a big company n has over 800 stores. Call me if u can help me 254-210-1446

Amy Epstein Gluck is a wonderful employment lawyer in Fairfax. But she will tell you that you will have to file a complaint through the EEOC. That's the only way to get the ball rolling. Takes over a year typically and even then, mediation is encouraged but not required. Had to go downtown to the EEOC, fill out the paperwork in person, and then 6 months later the case was passed to the regional office which is the Fairfax County Office of Human Rights and Equity Programs. It's been 15 months so far and still plugging away. Helps to have other people suffering the same fate but not critical. Good Luck

Employment Coordinator at Ballard Center Penn House

Just asking, what are the requirements for the position that the employer is looking for? Then compare them with your experience and from there?

I think if you google employment lawyers for your area, you should be able to find some.
