Senior Executive Assistant

Bad news, good news...Next Step Suggestions?

So I was turned down for a job recently because the new CEO thought I would be bored with it and was apparently "so impressed" that he thinks he wants me to take on a job they would need to create. Fabulous! Wonderful! But he also needs time to figure out what he actually needs and what the new job tasks would be. So I'm still unemployed, have no idea how long this will take, and am uncomfortable about falling off the radar. Any suggestions out there about how to keep momentum and speed up the process? And yes, I already sent my ideas about the job description. Any input welcome.

The operative words in your post are "turned down". I don't think the employer has any intention in creating a position especially for you. Although flattering, he didn't promise you a position. I suggest moving on.

I'd say just keep checking in to see how things are going. Maybe see if there is anything you can help with as well.
