New to modern internet seeks net-job

Hi brother & sisters, Working graveyards takes its toll, but it's paying off in the form of joining the internet age with a new laptop. I am looking for work at home that will eventually replace my current job (now I know how Rosanne felt). But I'm very Leary considering the "warnings vs promotion" portrayed here on JobCase. What im looking for is the most trustworthy, if it exists, discussed in the community. My laptop now has to earn it's keep. Feel free to reply here or leave something on the JobCase message board. Blessings of Christ to you and your search.

Neiman Marcus hires homeworkers, as Independent Contractors I believe in sales (commission based) and or accounting ir processing (possibly salaried positions).

Retail business from home over the Internet may require DBA or permit in your county and state if position is Independent Contracting. If a salaried or hourly employee, you will be on the clock so to speak and under their licensing and permits but you will still need secure business internet and telephone for a really reputable business like Neiman Marcus. Business computer for personal use can easily result in business hacking which is the graveyard for a small home business so I suggest keeping them seperate.

There are many businesses you can work for as an Independent contractor. Doing the leg work, mailing and networking to land clients on your own is the best way to work from home over the Internet.

Working for yourself means you only need to trust you and hold you accountable but most states require business type registration, and county DBA s at the least. Businesses are also supposed to register ($350. in Texas , minimum) to do business on the Internet

You need to apply for state and federal tax withholding permits too. Social security tax is higher for those who are self employed.. You should also know that if you must accept credit cards you not only need a business bank account but an e-commerce account which then gets you into the security compliance regulations governing charge ware, and monthly penalties for non-compliance. Despite your efforts and possibly funds to comply you may find it financially imposdible. $19.99 per month penalty stopped me dead in my pursuit of a possible Internet business as an Independent or freelancer.

Hi David: Work-from-home is definitely an ongoing conversation in the Jobcase community. I recommend that you continue your search for work from home jobs, but make sure you are applying to reputable companies who need remote workers (you will need to do a lot of internet research to make sure!). I also recommend you check out job board sites like Upwork and Guru. While they do have membership fees, those fees help make sure that the projects you see on the sites are legit.
