Child care
What is the best way to get a job providing child care for someone under 18?

Check the minimum age standards for daycare workers in your state if your interested in working in a daycare center. The part time opportunities are good because daycare centers always need employees available to work afterschool hours. You can also find local babysitting gigs at Care.com. https://www.care.com/

Ok great! I would suggest getting the word out around where you live so that families in the area know you are available for that. I would also be good to have your parents talk to their friends and coworkers to see if any of them might need childcare or at least give them your name for the future. Hope that helps!

Hi Macey, Do you mean you are under 18 and would like a job doing childcare, or you are looking for a job that will also provide childcare? Let me know so I can help more.
Ms. Bell just get the facts from your local Dept. of Social Service office. It's different from State to State. I know that you need insurance, the right amount of space a license for you to be with children, American Red Cross or American Heart Asso. CPR. A few other things but just don't trust the jobcase know it alls. Take the time and get the facts. If a child gets hurt you could be going to jail. If you don't have the proper license and insurance that also could get you jail time. Know what you are doing. Jobcase is not the place to seek that type of information. I do know for the fact in Florida you gotta be 21 yrs old to do what you are trying to do. It could have changed but protection of the kids are how you'll be prosecuted for a child harmed while under your care.
