Unemployed at N A

Angela S.

I interviewed yesterday for a county office position. I was notified by e-mail that they wanted to interview me. In the e-mail, they requested that I bring a resume and references which I did. They asked for my references which I gave them. I was waiting for them to ask for my resume, but they never did. Should I have offered it to them anyway? If so, do you think this will ruin my chances of getting the job?

Angela, I can't speak for everyone but I can tell you personal and professional experience. Larger companies use an HR program that autogenerates emails and correspondence. One of those auto emails is an acknowledgement of an interview time with location information. The secondary portion of the email includes tips for proper attire and security clearance. It generally includes redundant requests like resumes and references and offering additional copies is not necessary unless the copy you are carrying has updated information. Think of it this way; they already have a copy or they couldn't have contacted you. Good for you for being prepared. I hope this helps and good luck with your search.
