This is for any job not just cashiering, pay attention to your surroundings, study the POS system, watch customer interactions, be prepared for the most unhinged people. Don't assume you have anything down. Learn how to put on an act for customers and coworkers alike.

The key to being a good cashier is to make conversation ask them what they’re working on learn who comes in for what so next time a customer comes up and ask where something is yk what to look for without the zebra.

Customer service! If they have a question try to answer it with the best of your knowledge...if you don't know find someone who does! Count your money at least twice maybe 3 time..people like to quick change. Be respectful.

Smile , greet the customer .ask them how they are doing, Be courteous , respectful. Be sure to Thank them after the sale and let them know to have a great day and come back to visit!!!

Smile and be patient. Although it's easier said than done. Leave the payment where the customer can see it so if he or she says that the amount he or she gave was a different amount point to the bill and count the change back.

You must be inviting with your customer service and always count money as you pull it out of you till and then again as you hand it back to the customer
