its the first time I'm in dyer need of help...was homeless once.. anyone know of any organization that can help a person who worked all the time. and now is without work. to help pay my rent? not an apartment but a room..and what makes matters more worse. I cant apply for any government help because I rent a room' from a friend, . or could I... I'm already two weeks behind.. my room mate is getting some type of assistance. not sure what. but I know she gets food stamps.. and if I apply for anything it will mess her up. I need some type of resolution or I'm on the streets. I've depleted my bank account, which was nothing, for I lived check by check.
u should be able to go to ya local social services,they don't have to know ur only rented a room,u can ask to apply for a grant if they can not help you ,they will direct you to who can help u don't have to tell them it's just a room,tell them you have to have ya landlord which is her to create you a new lease because you lost your's so can u just get a rent form or a noterized letter for now,it should not mess with her case ,if u wanna apply for food stamps in that case you can just use her as a mailing address instead ya living address & it will not mess with her case.
Where about do you live??? What kind of skills do you have? Do you have any handicaps that would dictate type of work you can do???
I may have missed this information but it would be helpful for those of us who might have a lead on a job.

Just stumble across this and my reply is to post some of your skills on some other sites just as you have here, just to see if there is a demand for your knowledge and skill. Also as a pass time there surveys you can take online that pays fairly decent. Do this just to get income ball rolling again. Document your efforts for proof, this may get you some of the extra time needed to get back on track.

The way it sounds. You need relax. Breathe abd reset your self. Then go out and find another hob. Talk to your friend to see if you call stay as long as you pay her back. Nobody is. probably going to help if your renting a room from you female friend. That sounds like your just asking for money. Honestly
Well I'm from Danville VA. Here churches will help you and also social services. Maybe you can try those two places also.
Applying for assistance won't necessarily mess up your roommate's food stamps. It can't hurt to apply for assistance. What about unemployment? Assuming you live in the U.S. If you want to apply for assistance talk to your roommate. Did she report that you rent from her? You will need her information but since she gets food stamps the social services office already has it. Definitely apply for assistance.
