Question
Why is it so hard for a male to get a clerical/office position? Maybe it's just me, but it seems like it is difficult to get in these positions. They all tell me I don't have the skills they need, but the problem is I haven't found someone to give me that chance. I love to learn! lol

I am not certain my you are not hired without seeing your resume and interviewing you. We hired a male receptionist for our day spa. He has been a Godsend for our company and has increased our sales remarkably by up selling our clientele. Our clients love him. If you are not being hired I suggest you look deeply into your skills and background and to see if you are indeed a fit for this very important position.

Wellll, office work has been traditionally considered a "female" role, like nursing used to be. Your best bet would be to look for businesses that are run by women, as they are more likely to hire male office help. I mean, there is certainly no discrimination, right? But lets face it, a lot of bosses like to hire attractive women.

Hello Michael, l don't think this is a discrimination issues l think is because female makes work arena pleasant. if am not wrong.
Have a nice day!

I agree with Gail. Get your experience via temp jobs to get your foot in the door. If your credentials do not meet their needs, you most likely won't be hired. Sometimes organizations need experience to handle the fast pace that you may not be accustomed to which will have an adverse affect on their hiring decision.

Office positions are usually looking for women because they are just a pretty face to look at around the office, where I work there are 3 guys and 20 girls, it's rough

Do you have a license for administrative assistant

Not really I'm in administration field, i took a civil service exam , if you pass and score high chances are u getting call for the job. Good luck

They don't want men around a bunch of women.... unless you gay, try seeking another profession see how that works out..... good luck

Wow. I understand..i have typing experience ..and still office work no..thats not right micheal..
Try looking for Office Assistant positions and your resume on Jobcase doesn't help. Have someone take a look at your resume. It reflects position as a mechanic which is not related. Also, goto indeed.com and see if you match what your looking for.
