Have you thought about the AmeriCorps/Vista program? Your experience is invaluable, and you could very well be placed in a paid Volunteer position in your local area. It is through the Government, and you receive a living stipend(average $9 - $1000 per month(paid every other Friday), and Health Insurance. At the end of your Volunteer year, you will receive up to $5500 to either attend college, pay for a prior student loan, or past this benefit on to your Children or Grandchildren.
