Unemployment

I filed for unemployment April 15th after being laid off. I called the office 225 times before I finally got someone on the phone. She completed my application and today I got my approval and my pay will be direct deposit tomorrow. It only took 2 weeks.

My phone stops the count at 200. I redial that many times in a half hour. I’ve been doing it since may. Everyday.

225 times? Wow that's a long time. It took 2 weeks for me but i called at 7am CST and only had to wait a few minutes before i got an agent, who was very professional and got me enrolled. It's been simple so far. This is the first time i've had to go on unemployment and have paid into the system for nearly 30 years.

Mine took 7 weeks from filing to get notice I was approved, but I never got a debit card. Had to report it as lost/stolen, order a new one, and it took 10 days after that to finally get one. When I took it to the bank finally, it had 6 weeks worth of payments. I didn’t get anything for the 2 weeks after I filed as I guess they figure you have another paycheck coming once you’re laid off.

My son still doesn’t have his and he’s a single Dad. Same scenario ...he needed to upload 2 items of which he did the next day. Now there’s a recording saying to only leave one message or he’ll end up at the back of the line. Crickets. I’m soo worried for him. He finally got food stamps thank God! Any suggestions ?!! He’s afraid to call anymore ...any suggestions?!!

2 weeks used to be the standard as your first week is your waiting week and then the next week is your first job search week where you would file your claim that Sunday. 6 weeks makes me concerned about your claim. I'd not only submit an inquiry though your online claim meesage tab but call or visit the office if reopened. Attaching any supporting documents helps too.
