I am 57 years old and have been an office manager at this office for 3 years.Prior to that,I was an OM at a same speciality [OBGYN] practice for 22 years. Over the course of the last 2 years ,the practice volume has decreased and now its financially tough. I have offered many suggestions none of which have been considered instead my hours were reduced Now, I am told on Monday, that they are going to lay me off, terminate, etc.... because its financially difficult to pay me and that the office nurse is going to learn my job. She is 25 years younger than me, with no office management experience or skills and she makes $2.00 less an hour than I do. I am also noticing that she has a younger staff member learning an older staff member position. This lady is 68. I think this smells like age discrimination, what do you guys think?
