Dream job in the beer world….

I’ve seen all the awesome commercials about working in the beer industry. I’m currently a CDL driver, and haul loads for grocery stores, but I would LOVE to be one of those people who gets to deliver a truck load of beer to my favorite places around town. I know networking is BIG in the beer world, and I’ve gone to every local festival and event to try to schmooze with the people that are there. Anyone know any other good tips for how I can get a job in the beer world?

Hi, You need to talk to the local Distributors in your area and try to hook -up a connection with the major Beer Manufacturers in the area and out-of- State Distributors looking for local delivery of their beer products. Good luck with your "Dream of Beer" Venture! Brian

Make sure to do your research on the company… some beer companies contract their deliveries out to distributors (ie. Budweiser uses local distributors, where smaller breweries may distribute themselves). Find out who your local beer distributors are, and you may have a better chance of breaking in.

If you know networking works, keep on showing up and keep the conversation going! Do they know you are a CDL driver? Grab their business cards and send them a note to make sure you are at the top of their mind whenever a position opens.
