A new job at my age?
I am 56 years old and worked at a University for over 25 years. I was let go February 20`6. They bring in the young people who want to make that difference and get rid of those like me who have been around for many years. I just have a high school diploma but know a lot about administrative work. I just need to know that there are places out there that will still hire someone like me. Are there any tips as to looking for a job at my age?
Hello Rene, It is definitely possible to find a job at your age! The thing that will help you most is flexibility. Make sure you are willing to negotiate your salary, as companies may be looking to hire someone who will accept a little less. Also make sure they can see you would be flexible if you have to work under someone who is quite younger than yourself. Just keep doing your best at presenting and selling yourself, and you'll definitely find something!
