Focused Beyond Minimum Wage

How can I keep a positive attitude at work when everyone else I work with hates the job, always complaining, or only interested in getting a paycheck for minimal work? My work demands a team effort to get the job done so my performance is measured on how well we unload and sort packages within a restricted timeframe as a team. I try to keep the other motivated but people don’t care because it’s a low level minimum wage job but I don’t see it that way. This is a good company with a ton of career opportunities I’m sure I can grow into if I’m able to keep a good employee record in this department.

Forget about everyone else. Make yourself stand out as the managers go to employee.

Negativity is everywhere but it won’t affect you as long as you don’t let yourself get sucked into it. Walk away from those groups of people and negative conversations. Always try to stick to positive relationships and behaviors when you’re at work.

First, don’t worry about what everyone else is or isn’t doing. You might think that your performance is taking a hit because you’re part of a team but it’s not. Individual effort and performance is how management judges who’s going to stay on the team.
