So, they say they lost my paycheck!
I worked for the Whitehall Motel in Houston,Tx for 4 days. That is, until I got tired of 2 hrs. of dirty dishes stacked up when I came in. Now they say that they can't find my paycheck! It's not even my final check! I received a call from H.R. informing me that my check would be in the security office so that no matter what time I came in I could pick it up. 24 hrs. around the clock. I arrived at 11 a.m. on Friday, no one in the security office. The manager at the front desk said she would find it. 30 minutes later, after numerous calls to security (who wasn't on site), claimed she hadn't been able to locate it yet. She then took down my cell # and told me that she would call me when she had located my check. It's been 24hrs, and I haven't got a call! What should I do?
Contact the district office. If that doesn't work then, contact EEOC. EQUAL Employment Opportunity Center.
I now have the check. Was able to meet up with security on Monday. All is well.

Hi Keith: I'm so sorry to hear about this! I would definitely keep calling HR about your lost paycheck. Don't be afraid to be persistent here - they're in the wrong, not you. If they don't give you the answers you're looking for, it might be time to contact an employment lawyer.
