Tired of being used
I'm tired of being the one that my boss uses to get the work done in my specific duties when there is sometimes 2 or us doing it. Seems like everyone else is allowed to be lazy while I am expected to follow all the rules. I used for my experience but get the least respect because I don't do drama. Ugh I'm 46 and too.old for this. I'm feeling hopeless and worthless.

I know how you feel. M y daughter was having the same issue, but I think it was more because she was probably the youngest in the office and she is black. Not trying to make it about race but I found a number of bias from other co workers and managers will almost make it about race. Trust me, I had a supervisor who was blatant about how she felt about people who look like me. Hang in there if you can't talk to them, go over their heads and talk to the head managers and if that doesn't work, go higher even then these other people who cannot see what is happening in the office where you work. No I'm not playing the race card, because my supervisor once said to me, "didn't AIDs come from Africa? This statement floored me and I should have reported her, but she worked for the state and they do not care.

Monique, your BOSS respects you because you get the job done and in a timely fashion. Your co-workers will eventually feel the heat because they are not productive.
I don't advise you to do anything stupid, because at 46 there are not a lot of jobs out here and the market is only looking for the young-graduates-from-college who have NO experience. Keep your head in the job and start saying some PRAYERS. Get excited about having a job (on a personal note, I loved when my boss always chose me - it's like God's favor). Stop feeling hopeless and if you are feeling worthless because your BOSS is giving you all the work, something is wrong with your sense of self-esteem. Come on girl, get with the program; you are WORTH this job. Try looking at it in a different prospective - you could be out of a job!

Pray n pray again. Give it to God n let him solve it. I'm 50 n learned hard way that we cannot change who people are, But we can change the way we allow it to affect us. Love u n God bless u

I feel exactly the same way. I don't understand how the laziest people have a job and keep it. While a hard working, educated person can;t keep a job to save her life. I put all of me in my job and give above and beyond, while cleaning up others messes to save the company's name and reputation just to be laid off time after time again. It is so disheartening and now I don't know what to do but I don't want to minimize my skill set to land a job I knowingly know I am over qualified for. #USEDandLOST #Knowmyworth #Respect #Notappreciated

Hello Monique...sounds like what I am going through. I am the lead in my department and I pick up pretty much everybody else's slack. I tried talking get to them and the owner of the company. So I asked God to help me just do what I need to do for him because I work for God. And in the process I know he is getting ready to bless me with a new and better job. Stay strong and faithful :)

Being a business owner, I'll have to say that all employees need to be reminded and acknowledged of all their hard work, dedication, and effort to get a job done, regardless of the outcome of it...hang in there Monique, we all need to maintain that cash flow.

Well, I certainly have seen plenty of work situations where the "in crowd" gets to slack and ignore the rules while the outsiders have to bust their humps and follow the rules to a T. But I also know that everyone thinks they are working harder than everyone else.

Love your comment. I feel the same way. They know you are reliable so the ask you to do it. Hang in there.

Don't fell bad its not just at your job. Its like that it seems almost every where. You heard the quote "Those who can, do, and those who can't teach"? Well I have been with my company for over 4 years now I have been passee up for promotion 3 times but yet myself and 2 others on my shift do over 85% of the work load. And the morning shift when there is 4 to 5 people do the easiest 15%. Pending on the state you are in you can look in see if they have a state business ethics committee, which is usually located in housring and employment dept. You have to make sure you have solid proff of everything your aligateing, but they will investigate it and if found in your favor you can possibly be awarded a settlement for all the extra work as well as pain in suffering, the management can not legally retaliate against you so you need to keep accurate records and take photographs of an proff you can use to submit as evedance. That is what we are in the process of doing at my place of employment, and what quote helps me get through this. " Those who can , work, and those who can't get promoted ". It cost nothing to to look into the urban house and Employment dept. To see if you have a case. But it sounds just like what my team is going threw. And the other 2 I work with have already filed multiple written complaint with uper management as well as human resources and nothing was even investigated. Good luck and god spede.
Stay prayed up baby plz stay prayed up..... God will shine his lights down when he is ready
