Do I need any certifications to be a mental health worker at United Health Services?
UHS is sponsoring a hiring event next week that I’m interested in attending but I don’t have any medical certifications or licenses. I have personal experience gained over many years caring for sick family members.

YES YOU WOULD HAVE MORE THAN JUST LIFE EXPERIENCE . I SUGGEST YOU START BY CPR CERTIFIED THEN MOVE FORWARD

Check with the licensing bureau of the state you want to work in. Some regulations vary from state to state, so what applies in Michigan may not be the same requirements in Ohio, for example.

Here's something I randomly picked from United Health Care under Medical Assistant. There were no mental positions at this time, but this should give you an idea of what to expect. (see below)

I have a friend that works for United Health Services and she has to be licensed. I do believe that you can get in and get your license while you are with them, but call to confirm that. I know when she started she didn't have a license, and she has been with them for a year, and now has a license. She does not work in the mental part of it, but she does work as a Customer Service Advocate at United Health Services.

Iam having certificates and license of my profession in medical lab technology and having 14 yrs of experience till now serving for the sick family members.

Iam having certificates and license and personal experiences till now carring for sick family members.

Great question, Jose! Is there any way you can find out in the job description for a mental health worker? Usually the employer will indicate what certifications/education are necessary for a specific job role. Hope this helps!
