Administrative Assistant at Us Army
Report
I have almost been scammed. I was offered a job for an "up and coming company" that needed a personal assistant. I was promised $400 a week and as my first task, I had to send a check to an orphanage from the company. However, I have yet to receive anything in the way of tax paperwork, or even company name. BEWARE OF SMITH NELSON. I am not seeing anything legitimate from this person. It never ceases to amaze me of the lengths that people will go to scam someone.

Hi Suzette, good instinct, this is a MAJOR scam. They've been luring people with the orphanage story for a while now, and I'm so glad you didn't fall for it! It was likely going to be a fake check scam, and you can read more about that here: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/fake-checks-nanny-or-caregiver-scam-0
