After working 16 years for a company, I was "terminated" for having been hospitalized (as if ANY hospital patient can actually DISCHARGE himself/herself when admitted). Anyway, after searching a variety of Website Job Boards (Indeed.com, CareerBuilder.com, Monster.com, etc), and Craiglist Employment Ads, a temporary staffing agent found my resume "floating and circulating around the web " somewhere and called me for a temporary position, which I happily accepted. (SOME money is better than NO money, especially after Unemployment Compensation expires and there's ZERO income). I've been serving as a TEMP for ONE particular agency since November 24, 2017, but it was NEVER for MORE than 2 weeks at a time. So, on average, I was called to serve as a temp for this particular company for a LITTLE LESS than 2 weeks ONCE per month.

Just yesterday, (Friday, March 9, 2018), I was hauled into the Conference Room and I was thinking to myself, "Yeah, Yeah! I now the drill! Turn in your Employee ID Card, today's your last day, wait to be called next month for another 2 weeks or less." But, to my surprise, the manager began with, "It is with extreme pleasure that I call you in to tell you that we want to PERMANENTLY hire you beginning MONDAY!" I could NOT believe my ears! After being unemployed with LITTLE luck since April 2017, with the ONLY luck of being called for a TEMP 1.5 weeks PER MONTH position, I was STUNNED but with NO DOUBT overjoyed! She said the company had taken notes on my PUNCTUALITY, ATTENDANCE, and of course, my PHENOMENAL job as a TEMP!

Now, while I, myself, was walking down the UNEMPLOYMENT line with fellow Jobcasers, I've been offering miscellaneous advice to fellow Jobcasers posting a plea for help in interviewing to job-hunting on this website. I've drawn my advice from the OVER 16 years of Office experience I have, from starting as a Head Start Secretary to Administrative Assistant to a Project Manager for a Fortune 500 company (where that's the last position I held before termination).

Though I have landed a PERMANENT place of employment, I share this post NOT to "gloat" over the fact, but to say that I am STILL willing to help unemployed Jobcasers!
