Is it time to give up?
I've been working as a Production Supervisor and Manager for over 5 years and recently was a Plant Manager for a brief period of 4 months. Left bc it was not a safe environment and the owners made it clear it wasn't going to be changed by me. 1 week after leaving, wife found out she's pregnant. For 3 months I've been looking for anything decent. Been to multiple sit downs and phone interviews with no luck. I went from rising star to job leper. Our savings are depleted and we're close to being evicted. I'm ready to try McDonald's at this point. Not sure if it's me or the economy but despite my resume and skills, nothing is popping up. Any ideas or thoughts?

You are not alone here. I think that a report said that if you loose your job it's a 4 to 6 month wait period before you get rehired. All you gotta do is keep applying. Now I will venture out and say that you may have to leave your area and relocate.

Where are you from? I found myself in a very similar situation. I moved an hour north and everything here is completely different. I literally had a job 30 min after I got here. Also try staffing companies. They can be really good at providing temp income and they can be the key in getting your foot in the door. Keep your chin up my friend.

You're definitely not alone. I've seen many others on here saying the same sort of thing. Do you follow up after your interviews? I've heard that can be helpful sometimes. And following up on your applications is important as well.
Are you willing to relocate? Production/Plant Management positions are among those usually given to recruiters to fill. Contract recruiters who work in those areas. Go back to the place you left and ask for a letter of recommendation, 3 months is the point when new hires show they might not be up to the job, offer to help with transition and see where that leads. Never quit a job for any reason without having another, if the environment is unsafe call OSHA or make them fire you for trying to change things, that way you qualify for unemployment payments.
