Jobless Medical Assistant in Louisiana

In 2011, I graduated from a Career College as a Medical Assistant. Top 3 in class, 3.8 GPA, excelled at externship site.. Was told MA's are the new LPN's. Hiped about the new path, job opportunities and a thrust in my career as a medical professional. Applying, interviewing getting calls back only to say they've went with a more qualified candidate, don't have enough field experience and so forth. Remind you I have other certifications ( Phlebotomy, EEG, Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant) . Did 3 1/2 years in a RN program been working in the health care field since 1998.. And now even after 5 years has passed I'm still unable to find a MA job that will hire me. Is it because I never worked under the title of an MA? Because I have the skills they are looking for just not under the MA. Or is it i have too many skills and cross trained and they don't want to pay me what I'm worth. Either way it's disappointing, frustrating that after all these years of school, training and experience . I'm stuck working in a convenience store.. Any recommendations? ?

Hi Rachel: Since you have other certifications, use those skills to get you back into the medical field. Also, try doing some temp agencies and rearranging you schedule at the convenience store
