Hello everyone!!
My question is how do I get my manager to stop messing around and put me in the position I originally applied for? I interviewed for the pharmacy technician position and was told it would have to be up front until the transition of the new pharmacy manager took place. It's been four months ago and Everytime I ask about my position it's excuses. I even took it upon myself to talk to the district manager and he doing the same exact thing. What should I do?! I put in applications to other stores but I really don't want to up and quit.

They are not going to give it to you sweetheart.

Hello Bridget, Sounds like CYS! That is there style. Do you have your PT certificate? If not, then go where they put you. They will fit you in at some time. If someone else comes in with the same qualifications, then talk to HR. I could write more, but, don't know if you have your certificate. They will eventually move you to the pharmacy cashier position when the opening is available. Walgreen's is over staffed right now. They are juggling hours around to get the PA their hours. It depends on your designation. I didn't know there was such a thing. Once again, do you have your certificate, or, do you have the temporary certificate that lets you work as a cashier? I've babbled enough. Good luck!

I would not quit until I had another job. 4 months is a long time to wait for a position that should already be yours. If you can hang two more months I would. Six months would be my breaking point to tell them I'm going to be leaving in three months so I can go to the position I was hired.

Look for another position. You now have experience and can use it in finding a position worthy of your talents. Never quit a job until you have another. Give a weeks notice, even though your employer would not grant you the same courtesy. Be prepared to be let go immediately. It's nothing personal, just how business works. In other words, be sure to have some cash stashed to ger by untill your new job takes affect and a new pay check is on the horizon.

Well not really good on advise..but u sound like u know what u want..so keep pushing..but not to much where they think .hold up..may be push in other pharmacy like hint hint

Sometimes, administrators find it difficult to promote a staff simply because of excellence and difficulties in getting appropriate replacement of the promoted staff. Perhaps, management need some time to find someone who could render services very close to what you're doing. Best of luck

If it was me i would talk to the people that have the postion and see how they got and if that did i would ask the manger to put my application and tell me why im not working in the area imply for

Yes I agree with you

Look at the MeToo movement.....it may not apply to your specific situation but having seen your pic tells me that maybe so....it's about them taking you seriously as an individual trying to earn you way through this life.
I realize this is an old thread, but I just have to ask... You said you interviewed for the pharmacy tech position, are you currently certified as one? If not, did you pass the test that you would have taken either before or after your interview? I know Walgreens and CVS both have a test that they require this is not a certification exam it's just to determine if they are willing to train you as a pharmacy tech if you are not already certified. They will train you and then will prepare you to take the certification exam at some point down the road. So I'm just wondering if you are not already certified if that's the issue, that you did not pass the test so they're just using you where they can and you have a job. If you are already certified and this is for a large chain if there is another location that's convenient for you why don't you try there? You did not pass the test and you'll run into the same problem. They will probably allow you to take it again but after a certain period of time.
