How can someone with an MBA and a stellar job history not find employment after suffering though a layoff???. I am mad, angry, and frustrated. I have a 27 year career and no one wants me!

Hi Angelia, I totally get your frustration - been there myself. The toughest part of this chapter in your worklife is keeping your attitude up. Hopefully this community and others you are a part of can help support you.
Couple things:
1- pls upload a resins in your "myinfo" section, or manually fill out your profile. This way I, & other jobcasers, can best suggest opps, leads, advice, etc.
2- when I was where u are I actually found some helpful thoughts from a book called "who moved my cheese". If you haven't read it, suggest you add it to your summer reading list.
Truth is, there's a good chance you will have to think differently about the next phase of your career. Good news, these days 50 is still young! You'll have chance at whole new career if you'd like. If you find one you enjoy that's exciting not daunting. I hope you do. And I hope the Jobcase community and platform help you on this journey.
For what it's worth, you are far from alone. This too shall pass- hang in there!!!!
Fred

Unfortunately Ms. Croney, that's the world we currently live in, uncertainty. What I have found thru personal experience is that usually with that kind of education and longevity in business, you'll come accompanied with a huge salary request/requirement. Please don't take this the wrong way but could your age possibly play a role?? Just giving you a few ways to look at things differently is all. Never give up and always push forward, you will be rewarded for your efforts, just might take a little time. Wishing you the best.
It’s not you personally Angelia it’s a broken hiring system. The online application algorithms companies use today fail to identify qualified candidates and getting face to face time in front of hiring personnel is impossible. I’ve been able to get some solid leads attending job fairs and hiring events in my area. They haven’t led to a permanent full time job yet but at least I get to pick up numbers and talk to human beings in the job recruiting industry. Network your way into the next job opportunity.
