Cashier at Target

I finally got my first job!

I will be working as a seasonal cashier at Target. As someone with anxiety issues and such I've always been afraid of working but finally took the risk and applied. I look forward to gaining the experience and working on myself and even though I'm more introverted and have been kind of a shut in. I think it will be good for me to be around others. I plan to work hard and do the best I can. Even though I'm scared but everyone is at first right? I had the orientation yesterday and I was literally shaking so much! But it didnt turn out bad at all and it helped ease my anxiety having questions answered and being assured Im not alone in my feelings and fears and that if I ever need help its available. And Target it's welcoming and the people here are friendly so I think I will do just fine. I also wish best of luck to all the job hunters on here currently! You can do this! If I can then you can too.

Cashier at Target

I HAVE AN UPDATE TO MAKE! So I was scared at first but I worked hard and overcame it. I got past some of my social anxiety and it became easier talking to people considering that was my job. AND I WORKED SO WELL THAT THEY SAID THEY LIKED ME AND DECIDED TO KEEP ME PAST BEING JUST A SEASONAL!

House Keeping at Comfort Inn

Thank you. I also suffer from social anxiety. I worked at burger King and was out on the register and I froze. I couldn't see the buttons. The pressure from having a line. You can say you're new here only so many times lol. But thank you. I'm just having a hard time hearing back from anyone I applied for. Any advice on where to apply. Do you know any openings in the Barberton Ohio area??

Way to go Lea Edge!!!! You took a step out of your comfort zone which means you are going to do just fine. It's okay to be scared and it's okay to have questions, but don't think of your anxiety as a weakness because you showed strength buy getting this job. I wish you the best of luck at all your endeavors. I am so proud of you, my daughter has anxieties to and I only hope she shows your strength when it's time for her to enter the work place (which is very soon).
