Ok, so here's the big question. What do you think is the appropriate length of time to hold somebody accountable for felony convictions? Please be honest. Sometimes when we are so close to something we can't really see it too clearly and I guess I'm a little far sighted or maybe just discouraged but I have a felony record over 25yrs old and am getting turned down for jobs I am over-qualified for and have lowered my salary expectations twice down about 30% from industry average for people who have my skill set and training. Are we no longer a society that believes in second chances and rewarding positive change. I understand the responsibility of employers to maintain safe working conditions for other employees and customers but shouldn't there be some kind of general time frame for exclusion especially if the crimes weren't violent in nature. Shouldn't those people be able to support themselves and their families as well? Let me know your thoughts

Hi Brent! Try joining the ex-offender group here on Jobcase and ask them. Here is a list of companies that are commonly known for hiring ex-offenders (but not guaranteed) which you can find here as well as another helpful site that provides information about the benefits an employer will gain from hiring you. We're all rooting for you, Brent!
