There was an open position at work that no one was capable of doing
I was unemployed for a couple of months, I finally decided it was time to send my resume out to some companies that were hiring I didn't want a SM position so I applied for a ASM position and was called back from a couple of companies I. ended up taking one of the job offers as a ASM well about 2 1/2 months later I walk in the office and first thing I was asked was would I be interested in the freight managers position I said thanks but no thanks and the conversation ended there. So needless to say about a month later again im walking in to the office and again the store managers first words were "Ok how much more pay do you want to take the position" I was somewhat shocked so I was like ok I sat down and looked at her and just said to myself yeah right so I gave her a dollar amount and she was like okay I'm going to make a call to the DM and let her know this is what you want and I'll let you know what she said, I said ok next day I was told that the DM approved my pay increase Well about a month later nothing I seen the DM she says I sent your pay raise in and you should be getting it anytime now. To make a longer story short its been going on 10 months and still nothing I have talked to my manager I've talked to the DM and still nothing what do I do without getting them in trouble because I don't want them to know it was me that made that call. Is there any other way please I need some advice from hopefully someone who is or has worked or working in human resources.

You did right.

Should the new offer and new salary have been made official through an official letter to you? Call HR to make an inquiry.

Hi,GOD says;MATTHEW 11:28"CAST ALL YOUR BURDEN UPON ME! FOR MY YOKE IS EASY and I WILL GIVE YOU REST.Here on earth when we become so helpless our next course is to turn to GOD.When problems comes, the way is so dark, we need GOD to help us.

Christina, I would definitely put in a call to HR and say that you were promised a raise when you took the new position and it has not appeared in your paycheck. At that point, you will find out if someone has been lying to you or if HR simply dropped the ball. It is the only way to really find out if HR was ever notified of a pay raise.

You can now add "Freight Manager" to your resume. Continue working at this job for a few more months, then move on. Unfortunately, there are no state or federal agencies that can help you make your employer keep his or her word. The only way the Federal Wage and Hour Commission or the Arizona Industrial Commission could help is if your employer fails to pay you at all. But as long as they are paying you at least minimum wage and abiding by any applicable overtime rules, they are not violating any laws. Sure, your employer is a snake. They lied to you. But there's nothing you can do to force them to be honest and decent people. Spend a little more time at this job so you can learn as much as you can pad your resume, then go work elsewhere. Chalk this up as a learning experience.

Contact a lawyer and continue doing a great job. Your attorney should contact the state employment office and then human resources. They will come up with your backpay and will end up paying for your attorney. I don't believe there will be any blowback cause they already know your case has been documented.

Christina, you should have requested the approval in writing. Please do not take anything verbal when it comes to agreements on the job. Some people don't seem to be honest, and their word means nothing. It's all about covering yourself. Do not verbally ask again, just put it in writing, copy Human Resources Director and wait three days for feedback without uttering a word about the issue; if no response ask for your original position classification when you were hired. If they terminate you, refer the issue to Department of Labor. Wishing you the best...

get it in writing the pay increase than ask HR and than you will be showing prove that it was supposed to go through

Did you get anything in writing or sign anything in agreement to the pay increase?
Hello Christina, Are you working as an ASM and waiting to receive the type of pay you want for this job? And what phone call did you make that you don't want them to know about?
